It will compete against 3D epic Avatar and Alice in Wonderland in the fantasy category, and is also in with a chance of being named the most anticipated film of the summer, alongside fellow nominees Sex And The City 2, The A-Team and The Karate Kid.
There will be a similar tussle for trophies among the Harry Potter cast. Its stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint are also up for best performance.
