Photographers are constantly shooting the Twilight cast puffing on cigarettes between takes, and the stars are finally beginning to consider the effects of those snapshots on their 11-year-old fans.
E! News reports that costars Nikki Reed and Ashley Greene have vowed to give up smoking to be better role models for youngsters. A close friend of Nikki says,
Everyone on the cast smokes, and they are all trying to quit because they are on Twilight and know they are in the public eye.
[Ashley and Nikki] know they are role models for little kids. If there are a ton of paparazzi photos of them smoking, that's not a positive image.
Smart girls. But since quitting is easier said than done, Reed and Greene have turned to SmokeStiks, cigarette look-a-likes that contain nicotine, but no tobacco. They even light up when you puff (yay technology!)
Could Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson be next in line to put out their cigs?
