Our reporter attended this year's big convention in San Diego and got the scoop on New Moon from the key actors. We'll be bringing you all the complete interviews:
To kick off their appearance at this year's massive San Diego Comic-Con, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, the three lead stars of The Twilight Saga: New Moon actors took questions from members of the press and spoke about what fans can expect from the eagerly anticipated next installment.
Clearly one of the biggest attractions at the Con, the event drew fans by the thousands who camped out (some from as early as Tuesday, when the panel didn't take place until Thursday afternoon), waiting to catch just a glimpse of the actors bringing their favorite book characters to life on the big screen. Admittedly overwhelmed by the unexpected reaction they received last year, the more-prepared actors expressed their appreciation and shared some insight into New Moon, due out on November 20th.
TeenHollywood: How does it feel for all three of you to be back at Comic-Con this year?
Taylor: It's good. It's exciting. I think last year Comic-Con was the big eye opener for us, so it's awesome to be back and embrace all of our fans again, for everything they've done this past year.
Robert: I think we're the worst people to ask about it. The problem is that, when I looked at it, I never looked at it as a vampire story, right from the beginning. When I try to play it, I try to eliminate the vampire element, as much as I can, and just see it as a tool to make their relationship a little more fraught. Right after the audition, I found myself bizarrely invested in the story and I hadn't even read the books, at that point. I've gotten more and more attached to it. I've been talking about the script for Eclipse to people, over the last few weeks, and I find myself getting very argumentative, which I'm not usually. They definitely have some kind of power.
TeenHollywood: Which of the novels resonates the most for you, as a reader or as an actor, and which are you most enthused about working in?
Taylor: My favorite book was actually Eclipse. I'm pretty excited that. It's gotten action. The action levels continue to build, in this series. Also, Twilight sets up the romance between Bella and Edward, and then Bella and Jacob's friendship grows in New Moon. But, in Eclipse, it's actually the three of them physically together, and we have to team up and make this decision to try and be friends to protect Bella. I think the love triangle in Eclipse is the ultimate high point of the series, so I'm excited to get going.
